Luckshack.co.za FAQ July 2010 • Who and what is the Luckshack? The Luckshack is a CC with Andrew Klein and Marvin Hsiao as its (remaining) members. It's an online Magic store created out of passion for Magic the Gathering. Both Andrew and Marvin have full time jobs outside the Luckshack so this is a project they maintained for the past 4 years despite the time constraints. • Do you have a physical store? No, we currently do not have a physical location for people to shop. Much like Kalahari.com and Amazon.com, we aim to be the best specialised online store for Magic in South Africa. • What about the Underground store in North Riding Shopping Complex? We used to have our cards displayed and sold from the Underground. This awesome store is located in North Riding Shopping Complex in Johannesburg and is a must visit especially if you are a Warhammer enthusiast. (Check out their website at http://www.theunderground.co.za/). However, the Luckshack is undergoing restructuring processes and in the interim we have decided to recall all Magic products from the Underground. Currently we only operate by online ordering and posting. • The website says the shop is in Claremont in Cape Town. Can I come buy cards there? Claremont is the admin hub of the Luckshack CC. We do not have the shop cards there so expect to be disappointed if you come by intent on buying cards. • I know you have a secret stash that are not listed on the website, how do I access them? All of our for-sale cards are listed on the website. We don't have a "secret stash". If you search for a card and can't find it, we don't have one for sale. • I am looking for some commons but they are not on the website. Where can I find them? Commons not listed on the website are not available for purchasing because they are an admin headache for us. We apologise for the inconvenience. Our suggestion would be to purchase some sealed product from us to get those commons or visit a tournament in your area. • What are sealed products? Sealed products are things like boosters, booster boxes, fat packs, intro packs, duel decks and some promotional product. We offer one of the lowest prices for sealed product in the country so take advantage of this when you see sealed product of interest to you. Please note we don't replenish some of the sealed product so it will be sold on first come first serve basis. • How do I find a particular card I want to buy? There are two ways. If you know which set the card is from, click on the set "category" on the left hand side of the main page and find the card you are looking for. Alternatively a useful option is to use the "find a card" option on the top left corner of the main page. The advantage of this option is often a card (e.g. Ajani Goldmane) would appear in more than 1 set and all of the options will come up when you search for it. • What about cards for extended, legacy formats and older? Okay I lied. We do have some cards that are not on the website and they are all out of print cards. We are planning on loading some of these cards onto the website at some stage so watch this space. If you are desperate for some cards, you may email us a list of cards you need to info@luckshack.co.za. Please give us a list of RARES only as we don't keep stock of most old common and uncommon cards. It may take a while for us to respond to your query. • I was told you have this legendary R5 bulk rare box. How do I buy from it? Majority of our out of print cards goes into the R5 bulk rare box. You may select the miscellaneous tab on our set list (left hand side of the main website). If you select a rand value you will get the equivalent in random R5 bulk rares (e.g. the misc R30 cards item will get you 6 random bulk rares). If you are interested in getting R500 or more worth of bulk rares contact us directly and we will offer an additional discount. • How do I process order through telephone or email? All the Luckshack members have full time jobs outside the business and we will not be able to handle the load of email and telephone queries all the time. Please use the email queries judiciously, consult the FAQ, and place your order through the site. As a general rule, the more emails you send us, the less likely we are to reply. If you don't get a response from us it's either that we are not able to cater for your request or we are just too busy. Please accept our most humble apologies. • Can I purchase without a credit card? Yes, you most definitely can. In fact we prefer it. There are two options. After you select the cards you need on the website and proceed to check out, you may select the EFT option, and pay by electronic fund transfer (our account details will appear during the order process). Alternatively if you don't have internet banking, you may go directly to a Standard bank and deposit the cash into our account. Use your name or order number as reference. On confirmation of payment we will post the cards to you. • Can I do "Cash on delivery" and pay when my order is posted to me? No, our order are delivered by the SA postal service. We have no way of taking payment on delivery. So we need to receive payment before we can post orders. You are welcome to tip the postman though. Public servants deserve some appreciation. • What are the posting options? There are two. You may select "Counter to Counter" or "Ordinary Parcel". Both delivery methods are registered and come with a tracking number. Ordinary parcel is the usual SA postal service parcel that gets delivered to your postal address. Counter to counter is a faster delivery service (it arrives the day after we post the order) but you will have to collect it from your nearest post office. Please note due to time constraints we only post orders on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Always check your delivery address at the end of the ordering process to make sure it's correct. • I am based in Cape Town, can I ask Marvin to get the cards to get the cards for me and I pay him in person? No you may not. So please don't ask him or you may expect rude remarks. • How do "shack points" work? Unfortunately it's a feature of our site that we've abandoned. We have not made much progress. So in essence, "shack points" does not work. However, we are very thankful of our regular shoppers and have an unofficial loyalty program. Those who purchase above a certain value regularly from us will get either additional shop credits or free products. • I have a collection for sale. What should I do? We are only purchasing standard cards for the time being. Please compile a list of the cards that you would like to sell to us and email us at info@luckshack.co.za. A general rule is (provided that we don't have more than 8 of the cards you are selling) we pay 5X the StarCityGames dollar price in cash or 6X StarCityGames price in shop credit for the cards you sell to us. • Are you interested in Magic related articles? Yes we do! The Luckshack is all about building a magic community is South Africa and we believe sharing stories about magic (or gaming in general) is an integral part of this. If you have stories to share please send it to info@luckshack.co.za and we will posting it on our website. We will provide shop credits for articles depend on quality and length. So start writing towards that Jace, the Mind Sculptor that you been eyeing. • How do I find out more about Magic the gathering (tournaments and general info) in South Africa? Visiting http://www.magicsa.co.za/ would be your best option. There is also a SA Magic Facebook group which is very active and has all the latest information you need. So go out there, meet other Magic players and have fun! |
